Hello, everyone! Welcome back to another Tag Tuesday. This week I will be doing the Reader Confession Tag. I’m really not sure where I originally saw this tag, I literally just have a list of tags that I think look fun and then just Google them when I want to do it, but I am basing this off of Denise @The Bibliolater‘s post. Let’s get started!
Have you ever damaged your own book?
Yes. But nothing major and certainly not on purpose. Just a dent here and a bent page there.
Have you ever damaged a borrowed book?
Nope. I’ve only ever borrowed like one book.
How long does it take you to read a book?
That really depends on if I like the book and if I have time to read. It once took me three months to get through a 300ish page book because I couldn’t stand it. But if it’s short and I don’t have homework or work, I can usually get through a book in two days.
Books that you haven’t finished?
I’ve only recently decided to stop forcing myself to finish books that I don’t enjoy. I used to have to finish a book, but last month I realized I wasted so much time trying to get through books that I just wasn’t feeling, and decided that I don’t want to do that anymore. I want to read for enjoyment, I don’t want to make it feel like a chore.
Hyped/Popular books you didn’t like?
I heard so many great things about The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black, but I could not stand it. I hate that I rushed out to buy it and I hate that I wasted my time. I love Holly Black though.
A book you wouldn’t tell anyone you are reading?
I don’t really have any books I would want to hide, but I did have people think I was reading erotica when I was reading City of Bones because it has a shirtless man on it…
How many books do you own?
I just counted for the first time and I own 332 physical books with 9 in the process of being mailed to my apartment. I kind of feel nauseous about this number and I don’t know why…
Are you a fast reader or a slow reader?
Slow compared to my mother, average compared to others, I would say. I would be a faster reader, but Hulu and Netflix exist so I can’t practice.
Do you like to buddy read?
I’ve only ever tried this once with someone on Goodreads and we just ended up not talking. So I guess I don’t really know how it works maybe? If you want to give it a try, then I’m down!
Do you read better in your head or out loud?
Definitely in my head. I only read out loud when I am having trouble comprehending something or if my apartment is too quiet and I need some noise.
If you were only allowed to own one book, what would it be and why?
Um…I love Jane Eyre but I don’t know that I would want to read it over and over and over. Probably Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I feel like I get new information every time I read it, so I wouldn’t mind reading it a lot.
