So I have decided that I greatly enjoy book tags. I think they are a great way to initiate conversations and are wonderful for blogging prompts.
With that being said, I probably won’t be tagged to do most of the book tags I will post. If I see one floating around that I like, I’ll probably just jump in and tag my own people!
And now that I have my cup of coffee in hand, I might as well do a fitting tag.
- BLACK: A SERIES THAT’S HARD TO GET INTO BUT HAS HARDCORE FANS
Do you have any idea how bad I want to commit to and read Game of Thrones?? Like, so bad! The fan base is crazy, for the show and the books, and from what I can tell, it’s all well deserved.
But I will probably never get to. Going back and forth between points of view of tons of characters, killing people off and introducing new characters like crazy, it just seems too much. I honestly don’t think I could focus.
For those of you who can, it seems to really be worth it. But I think it would just be too difficult for me to get into.
- PEPPERMINT MOCHA: A BOOK THAT GETS MORE POPULAR DURING WINTER OR A FESTIVE TIME OF YEAR
I think everyone’s response to this question is generally the same: Harry Potter.
Christmas usually marks where we all begin re-reading the series. For me, Halloween really reminds me of it too. Either way I wish I could spend both holidays in the Great Hall.
- HOT CHOCOLATE: A FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK
Oh, the Places You’ll Go! This is the only one I could think of, so I’m assuming I liked it as a child. I certainly think it’s one of Dr. Seuss’s most inspiring books.
I dare you to watch a YouTube video of someone reading this book and see if you don’t feel the feels. I mean, I get emotional. Dr. Seuss speaks of life, for real.
- DOUBLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO: A BOOK THAT KEPT YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT FROM START TO FINISH
I just finished A Darker Shade of Magic and it was jammed packed with adventures. It was the hardest book to put down!
If you haven’t read it, please do. It’s so thick with magic and adventure and an amazing storyline.
- STARBUCKS: A BOOK YOU SEE EVERYWHERE
So, I’ve never read The Fault in Our Stars, and never ever plan to, but it’s definitely everywhere.
I feel like even non-bookish people have a movie poster or book swag for it somewhere.
- OOPS! I ACCIDENTALLY GOT DECAF: A BOOK YOU EXPECTED MORE FROM
When The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black came out last year, I was so excited. She is such a talented author, it’s hard not to expect so much from her.
But this book just left me wanting. For me, it didn’t flow well, and the resolution was just so quick, that I actually missed how it happened.
- THE PERFECT BLEND: A BOOK OR SERIES THAT WAS BOTH BITTER AND SWEET, BUT ULTIMATELY SATISFYING
Queen of Shadows! Was I the only one who went into reading Queen of Shadows thinking it was the last book? Because I thought that was the end our story.
But, if it were the ending, I would have been satisfied. It’s sweet because we won in the end, it’s bitter because we didn’t get to see what unfolded after we won. But it was ultimately a satisfying ending for the series…had that been the ending. I’m so excited that it’s not though!
- GREEN TEA: A BOOK OR SERIES THAT IS QUIETLY BEAUTIFUL
The Circle Series by Ted Dekker comes off as an adventurous, reality-jumping race to save the world, and it is exactly that.
But underneath it’s about goodness, love, and spiritual growth. It’s inspiring when you look at the AU’s perception of worship and love, and it directly relates to religion.
- CHAI: A BOOK OR SERIES THAT MAKES YOU DREAM OF FAR OFF PLACES
Most definitely the Lunar Chronicles. I just want to be able to live on the moon, or for it to be totally normal to fly around space for fun.
I mean maybe I could do without the moon and the Earth warring against one another, but being able to just own a space ship and travel between the moon and Earth like it was just overseas would be so exciting!
- EARL GREY: A FAVORITE CLASSIC
If you follow me on Instagram at all, you probably know that my favorite book of all time, next to HP, is Jane Eyre. I know some can’t stand it’s old time writing style, but the story is just so good that it’s easy for me to move past that!
I TAG YOU! All of you.
